The Old Stove Pub, an Icon returns

The Old Stove Pub Hamptons

After three years of being closed for renovations and on the market, Joe DeCristofaro of Southampton reopens the classic Hampton’s icon, The Old Stove Pub. DeCristofaro was born and raised in the Hamptons and has a special feeling for The Old Stove Pub. He is a known Real Estate Broker, investor and entrepreneur. He’s been in the industry for years and even owned a Hampton’s magazine called Country Magazine in 1998.

At 3516 Montauk Hwy. Sagaponack, one must walk past a red horse with no name, and no legs towards the entrance of a rustic styled farmhouse set back off the highway. This is not a song but it could be as this venue should have walls that talk. Many celebrities have been sighted here since the time that it opened 51 years ago including Billy Joel, Barbara Walters, Hugh Carey, Truman Capote, George Plimpton, Peter Maas, Mario Puzo, Joseph Heller, Sidney Lumet, Elia Kazan, Gloria Vanderbilt, Calvin Klein, John Legend, Shakira, Rocko DiSpirito, Jon Bon Jovi, Ronald Lauder, Kelly Klein, food aficionados Allan Stillman and Peter Morton, pianist Peter Duchin and Jimmy Fallon. Apparently not everyone was on their best behavior.

Now, it has been restored extensively inside and out, providing outdoor live music with loads of picnic tables and periwinkle Adirondack chairs. They can accommodate large groups outside almost like a family-style picnic on the lawn. There are appropriately spaced tables inside and outside on the patio. There are many options to choose from for your comfortability. Customer safety is their concern. The restaurant is open for dinner service Wednesday-Sunday and will be open all year round. There is an outdoor cocktail area for the summer months. The new menu offers traditional Greek fair locally sourced and new culinary offerings. Do try the burrata with grilled peaches drizzled with balsamic reduction, it’s absolutely divine.

“The Old Stove Pub holds a special place in the hearts of Hamptonites,” notes Mr. DeCristofaro. “The history of the Pub is so rich, and restoring this property was a true labor of love.  We are proud to introduce the new and improved Old Stove Pub back into the community at this moment and looking forward to a very special summer and fall.”

It was originally called the 19th Hole for its proximity to Poxabogue but an old stove was left out on the street and the rest is history. known best for its famous dedicated patrons, live music nights, and classic Greek and steak menu, the Old Stove Pub is open year-round for dinner and weekend brunch.- The Old Stove Pub
