Global Lyme Alliance with Christopher Meloni, Ashley Loren, & Rosanna Scotto raised over $1.6 million for Lyme & tick-borne disease research and awareness.

On Thursday, October 10th, 2024 The Global Lyme Alliance (GLA), the leading nonprofit against Lyme Disease held its 9th Annual Gala which returned to Cipriani 42nd Street. The sold-out gala stunned all with an enthusiastic and spirited musical performance by the beautiful Debbie Gibson. The Master of ceremonies was Rosanna Scotto, Co-Host of FOX 5 “Good Day New York” with appearances by Broadway Star Ashley Loren as well as Celebrity Ambassador Christopher Meloni.

The most anticipated gala raised more than $1.6 million to advance GLA’s mission to conquer Lyme Disease. It also raised awareness and created solidarity for the caretakers and those inflicted with the disease. The goal is to ultimately find a cure for Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. The red carpet was filled with invited philanthropists, celebrities, business leaders, and top scientists alike followed by light bites, cocktails, dinner, and a live auction.

The GLA honored Kenzie Vath, a devoted wife, caretaker, and hotelier for her contribution to raising awareness and funds for this most debilitating disease. The new award was sponsored by philanthropists Bob and Karen Kelly to recognize family members and caretakers who have to not only navigate the medical system but be a champion for the rest of the family. According to the CDC, there are 476,000 new cases of Lyme disease each year in the U.S.
