On Sunday, August 15th, Christie’s Auction House Gallery at 1 Pond Lane, overlooking Agawam Park, Southampton hosted the launch of the iconic Palm Beach hotel’s pop-up from August 17th to Labor Day. Many of the Southampton dinner guests can be seen at the hotel during the winter season having lunch, dinner or drinks such as Debbie Bancroft, Wilbur & Hillary Geary Ross, Annelise Peterson, Christian Leone, Kim Heirston, Bob Colacello, Steven Stolman, Catherine Carey & Bryan and Maria Fischel. So,the event really did exude The Colony, Out East. The Colony owners Andrew & Sarah Wetenhall and Christie’s President Bonnie Brennan co-hosted the event with Swifty’s owner Robert Caravaggi in attendance and core hotel staff.
The dinner for the luminaries culminated as the highlight of the summer season with over the top decor representing all things The Colony. The Colony Hotel is known for its unique decor with hand painted De Gournay wallpaper with hues of light pink and chartreuse anchoring the theme featuring Johnnie Brown the monkey mascot holding the pink Colony flag. A bounty of tropical flowers were brought in, while guests became part of the popup with their flavorful attire and boundless gratefulness. It really was a home away from home for those that are in the know when it comes to all things The Colony Hotel. The large outdoor hospitality activation was filled with significant whimsy from the hotel with chartreuse cabana chaise chairs, scalloped umbrellas, the sea grape paddle board, palm trees, and it wouldn’t be complete without the signature pink and green beach buggy. Several courses were provided by Robert Caravaggi Swifty’s including a Hampton’s farm stand salad, artisanal breads, Swifty’s bacon wrapped meatloaf, crab cakes and Florida Key lime pie, while rosé Côtes de Provence and Champagne À L’EST was provided by Out East.
