Yoga on My Lioness at The Antigua Yacht Club

The Antigua Yacht Club has a lovely resort and a spa that overlooks Falmouth Harbor. Each room has an ample sized balcony with a gorgeous view of the harbor. While visiting one can pad up and down the pristine docks and view some of the nicest sail vessel and motor yachts in the Caribbean. It’s extremely peaceful and each yacht has a personification of its own. Meandering through the quiet vessels can be ironically grounding. In Antigua, one can tune into the healing powers of the sun, sand and sea.

Many travel alone and even a luxury sea escape or resort found in remote locations can be lonely. While these experiences may be more beautiful with their sandy beaches, there is something to be said for having a small village just outside your door. Here one can meet locals and island visitors that congregate daily. Many happen to be expats or yacht enthusiasts from all over the world. It’s always a great conversation when there are multinational views. Near the Yacht Club, one may even bump into yachties that spend their summer months, where else? The Hamptons. Falmouth Harbor is home to numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, internet cafes and a few clothing shops, but it is mainly known for it’s yachts. It’s a beautiful balance of rustic and luxury where each can be appreciated. At one end of town there is the possibility of enjoying a sandwich next to several highly entertaining goats who can be found playing on an old dusty dirt path or lunch on a pristine watercraft at the other end of town. The Antigua Yacht Club has a great view of the whole harbor and what it has to offer. Nightlife changes monthly and can be semi quiet to completely bustling during Antigua Yacht Week. It’s especially nice to wake up to the dinging of the lines gently hitting the masts of the sailboats and again, what a great view. MY Lioness at 207′ is a great place to start your day with some morning or afternoon yoga! Emily Kendall-Grover is the instructor and stewardess on this amazingly abundant yacht. Can we say: yes please?
