The Animal Rescue Fund

The Animal Rescue Fund was founded in 1974. Its large facility is located on 22 acres of wooded land just next to the East Hampton airport in Wainscott, N.Y. ARF is supported through donations, events and it’s thrift shop located on 17 Poxaboque Lane and Montauk Hwy. All of the proceeds go towards animal rescue, spay, neuters, food and operation costs. ARF is a no kill shelter that provides homes for 1000 dogs and cats a year. At any given time there are 150 animals on the property. ARF has an in house veterinarian and technicians on staff and adoption hours are from 11-4pm every day of the week.

ARF is also known for its adoption events, Pet Celebration Day, Designer Showhouse, Dog Walk and its Bow Wow Meow Ball. The Pet Celebration Day or Annual Meeting takes place during the first Saturday in May. Last year fresh dog food was provided by Fresh Pet and Coffee and tea were sponsored by Dressens. During the last week of May, The ARF thrift shop is transformed into The Designer Showhouse. Distinguished interior designers are given rooms as palates. Each designer articulates through the use of ARF thrift store items or use of their own designs. Last year lite bites were served by Chef Peter Ambrose, wine by Channing and vodka by Alpha Noble. 7th Annual Designer Showhouse and Sale, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop. The ARF Garden tour is one of the best day events in the Hamptons. Each year different houses and gardens are showcased. It’s a great way to spent the day, meander behind the hedges and make new friends. This is a great cause and it’s well worth the ticket. The cocktail reception takes place on Friday at a private home and the garden tour follows on Saturday with five or more homes. Save the date: Friday June 17th & Saturday June 18th

The Bow Wow Meow Ball takes place on the grounds at ARF to celebrate the lifesaving work of ARF and includes cocktails, dinner, dancing and orchestra with a silent and live auction .
