[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]One of the things that makes Thanksgiving weekend in the Hamptons exceptional is the East Hampton Historical Society’s yearly cocktail event at the Maidstone Club, followed by the House & Garden Tour the next day. On Friday November 23rd a large group of East Hampton Historical Society’s enthusiasts attended the yearly cocktail event from near and far. Cocktails, passed hors-d’oeuvres, beef tenderloin and more were served in the prestigious private club. The cocktail event brings a warm group of people together who then see each other the next day while touring some of the most stunning homes the East End has to offer.

The annual event brings enthusiasts including Jessie Della Femina, Media Sponsor HC&G’s Kendell Cronstrom, Alejandro Saralegui, and Pamela Eldridge, Luxury Lifestyle Blogger Kelli Delaney, Architect Ted Porter, Actor Maulik Pancholy Designer Barbara Ostrom, and East Hampton Historical Society Board of Trustees members, including President Arthur (Tiger) Graham, James Blauvelt, Jim Oxnam, Barbara Borsack, and Dale Ellen Leff.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1184″ img_size=” 960 × 720″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1969″ img_size=” 960 × 720″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1973″ img_size=”960 × 637″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1971″ img_size=”960 × 637″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1972″ img_size=”960 × 637″][vc_single_image image=”1974″ img_size=”960 × 637″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1970″ img_size=”960 × 637″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In its 34th year, the House & Garden Tour named From Sea to Bay and South-of-the-Highway had over 600 attendees at the five homes showcased. This was the largest attendance thus far. The Society offers a one-time-only glimpse inside some of the most prestigious homes of the East End, where guests could view the use of color, texture, pattern, and space through decades of architecture.

“The House & Garden Tour is one of our most important fundraisers,” said Event Chairman Joseph Aversano, “and all proceeds will support the East Hampton Historical Societies museums and programs”.

The East Hampton Historical Society serves the residents and visitors of East Hampton by collecting, preserving, presenting and interpreting the material, cultural and economic heritage of the town and its surroundings. Its properties are comprised of The Clinton Academy, ca.1784, Mulford Farm, ca.1680, Thomas & Mary Nimmo Moran Studio, ca. 1884, The Osborn- Jackson House, ca. 1720, and The East Hampton Marine Museum. East Hampton Historical Society events support the preservation, restoration of all of the properties and fund new exhibitions which preserve the history of The East End.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1982″ img_size=” 960 × 720″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1981″ img_size=” 960 × 720″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1980″ img_size=” 960 × 720″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1979″ img_size=” 960 × 720″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1967″ img_size=”3216 × 2136″ add_caption=”yes”][vc_single_image image=”1961″ img_size=”3216 × 2136″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1962″ img_size=”3216 × 2136″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1976″ img_size=”960 × 794″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”right”][vc_single_image image=”1977″ img_size=”960 × 720″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1978″ img_size=”960 × 720″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Maidstone Club-

Maidstone was the original name of East Hampton as its first settlers were from Maidstone England, just southeast of London. The Maidstone Club was established in 1891 as a bath and tennis club and in 1894 a 3 hole golf course was added. Later, 80 acres of the Gardiner Peninsula was secured to extend its golf course.

The club, membership, and fees are private. It’s one of the most coveted golf courses and memberships in the world with its beautiful rugged dunes and cool ocean breezes. There isn’t a course like it in the U.S.and it compares in character to St. Andrews.

Several charity events are held during the summer season mid-week while most club members are in N.Y.C. they include The Ann Liguori Charity Golf Classic, Guild Hall and The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center all of which are summer golf tourneys. The massive stucco Tudor structure overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, pool and bathhouses, while the bluestone patio on the west side overlooks tennis courts while the north overlooks the impressive and breathtaking golf course.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1183″ img_size=”960 × 719″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1187″ img_size=”960 × 794″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1189″ img_size=”960 × 794″ add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
